Description
Georg Breuer 's 2019 Riesling Sauvage is a unique and fascinating expression of Riesling from a grape variety grown in the heart of the Rheingau region of Germany. "Sauvage" (wild) refers to the more untamed nature of the wine, which undergoes spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, without the intervention of selected yeasts. This gives the wine a unique personality, with an interesting aromatic complexity and a pleasant minerality. The wine is fresh, elegant, but with extraordinary depth and longevity.
Tasting Notes
- Color: Straw yellow with greenish reflections.
- Aroma: Broad and intriguing bouquet, with notes of fresh citrus fruits, white peach, aromatic herbs and a light mineral nuance reminiscent of flint.
- Taste: Fresh and lively on the palate, with good acidity that perfectly balances the structure. The finish is long and clean, with a pleasant savoury and citrus note.
Recommended pairings
- Excellent with fish dishes, seafood, sushi and sashimi.
- Also perfect with fresh cheeses or light vegetarian dishes.
- A wine that also goes well with spicy dishes, such as those of Asian cuisine.
