Collection: Gewurztraminer

Traminer aromatico or Termeno aromatico or Gewürztraminer is a pink grape variety. It is grown mainly in Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia; there are two types: an aromatic or pink Traminer and a red Traminer. The original name of Traminer aromatico is Gewürztraminer , a name due to the strong presence of the German language in Alto Adige. The first part of the word gewürz comes from the German with the meaning of "spice", but in this case it is more precisely intended to indicate the act of "flavoring", it is in fact a very aromatic wine. The second part of the word, traminer, comes from the German Tramin, in Italian Termeno (Termeno sulla Strada del Vino), an Italian municipality in the province of Bolzano in Trentino-Alto Adige. It is precisely in this area that the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC wine is born.
