Glendalough Double Barrel is a premium Irish whiskey produced by the Glendalough Distillery, located in the mountainous region of County Wicklow. This whiskey is the result of maturation in two types of casks, first in American oak casks and then in Irish oak casks, which gives it a rich and complex character.
Tasting Notes
Color: Bright gold with amber reflections.
Nose: Notes of vanilla, honey, dried fruit and sweet spices are perceived on the nose, with a hint of toasted wood.
Taste: In the mouth, the whisky is soft and velvety, with flavours of ripe fruit, caramel, and a light smokiness. The finish is long, rounded, with a light aftertaste of oak and spices.
Recommended Pairings
Great to sip on its own, perhaps with an ice cube, or as a base for sophisticated cocktails. It also pairs well with dark chocolate, aged cheeses and grilled meat dishes.
