The vineyards are located at about 150 meters above sea level, with south-east exposure. The soil originates from marine formations of the Pleiocene-Pleistocene and consists of a calcareous clayey silt.
The average yield is between five and six tons per hectare.
The harvest is manual and takes place from the beginning of September with the picking of the Merlot grapes, until the last days of the month when the Sangiovese, a rather late variety, has reached the maximum of its possibilities with a balanced phenolic maturation.
After destemming and soft pressing, the must ferments at a temperature of 26-28°C in steel tanks for 10/12 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and then moves on to refinement.
The Merlot wine ages for a period of about 8 months in small oak barrels at the third or fourth use, while the Sangiovese in stainless steel vats. After the assembly, Vigor rests in the bottle for another 6 months.
